Hook ‘em Young

So, I did make an entry two weeks ago. And I also typed up an outline for an entry last week. However, my rambling was just a little too much for me to be willing to hit the submit for. Nor did I really take the time to look into the outline points I wanted to cover. Brief overview before I move onto allowing myself to ramble again: it was cold! & great State of the Union.

Now, I was sitting in a doctors office yesterday. My kid is a shy little nervous thing. He insisted I was in the little section set aside for kids so he could go in there and play with what they had available. While he played with a preschooler toy, I thumbed through the magazines. In between the Highlights and some torn up books, I found a parenting magazine. An article about how to raise your kids with spirituality had caught my attention. Let’s just say, I wasn’t sure if I should be angry or upset over the article. Read more…

Happy Bass Day!

Another random title from me. Or, the first of many random to come.

I thought each day the past week what I should write about. When I first created this blog, I intended to comment more on things that could be considered more mature topics such as politics, major current events, religion, and other topics that might fit a more adult audience. I realized just now that is not really me. I am doing this for fun. I am doing this to just put my thoughts out there for my enjoyment and hopefully the enjoyment of one or two other people that enjoy my inane ramblings. So, ramblings you shall have.

Now, one thing I thought about most this week was religion. I don’t understand organized religions. I just don’t. Read more…

Happy New Year!

HAPPY 2010! So its a new year for most of the world. And in a few short more hours, it will be a new year for the entire of the world. My new year will start in a little over four hours. What will this new year bring me aside from another year of aging that I do not want…? I do not know.

So new years is a day where many people make resolutions for things they sincerely wish to change, things they wish to accomplish, or things say they want to do just for the hell of it. I don’t know when this tradition started; nor do I really feel like doing any research on this to come off as some educated person in the history of “New Year’s Resolutions.” Are you making any resolutions? I know I am going to make a few myself. Will I be able to keep these resolutions? Are they outrageous and unobtainable? Or, are they modest and quite easily to maintain should I just put in the little effort necessary? Only my laziness will tell. Or, should I say, only time will tell…

Does it really matter?

I enjoyed reading the news and having opinions about things. But the more I read and the more things that I see happening in the world, the more helpless I feel as an individual.

I’d like to think that sharing my thoughts could help improve things overall. But I always fail to remember that there are so many more people out there that don’t see things through my eyes. I feel stupid when I realize I put my thoughts out here when I know that anyone can see them. People may or may not agree.

GhostNet: Cyber Espionage

There is no question about it technology is what makes any country prosper. The more advanced technologies available can help provide countless progress in so many different fields of science. Cures for diseases, environment friendly energy consumption, and ultimately government defenses will be managed by how advanced technology becomes.

Now from my point of view, technology and imagination is all it takes to get anywhere in this world. When I read news such as a mainly China based cyber espionage network referred to as GhostNet, my little overactive imagination comes up with some of the wildest ideas. Maybe I have seen too many movies… People taking complete control over someone else’s computer? Hacking into government systems and having control over peripherals? It sounds like movie material to me. However, this is no movie. This is a very real thing. Over 100 countries have been reported to have been affected by this GhostNet network.
